Narnia

Haven't done a movie review for a while. Greg and I ended up seeing this one because 4 brothers wasn't on for another half an hour.

It was okay. Even though I didn't particularly like the story, I could see that the movie was well done. I'd forgotten what a bunch of saps those kids were. I was reminded yet again that movies and stories don't really work when the main characters are unlikable or so irritating you wish something would eat them or kill them in some other hugely entertaining way. Actually, just killing them would be hugely entertaining.

thanks Josie

One of my christmas presents was a lonely planet book called "Central Europe" given to me by JOsie.

It has been cool reading little titbits about Austria and looking at the maps. Greg worked out that from end to end, it's only as far as Auckland to New Plymouth. So not that big. But they have twice the population of NZ.

Something else Greg discovered, which he was very excited about is that Budapest is only 5 hours away, aa...and, it's only about 200 Euros to get there and back on the hydrofoil. Significance? the Formula 1.

christmas

Lots decisions to made at this time of year. Should we go to the Naki, how should we get there? can we afford it? etc etc etc.

After considering all our options, we decided to go. Although Greg didn't feel like he could afford the time off, it was a good plan because it turned out he realy needed the break. We hired a car because it only cost $60 a day. Whereas flying was going to cost over $600 for the two of us. OUCH!

We made it to Taranaki in less than 4 hours and no, we weren't speeding. There just wasn't any traffic. It was fab.

We were only 48 hours there. Greg had to get back and finish his thesis. So no real holiday for us until he finishes.

We're really going

We've bought the tickets! So guess who's feeling totally broke? but excited...but still broke.

We haven't resorted to licking the food pictures in magazines so I guess we're not really that broke.

Anyhooo, all are welcome to come and visit us.Please.
