Gross und Klein....It's Amazing

Last May, a friend of ours kindly organized for a group of us to go to a play.  She's an Aussie, which may have had something to do with her choice- Gross und Klein(Big and Small).

Gross und Klein was put on by the Sydney Theatre Company and Cate Blanchett. We had absolutely no idea what to expect. Especially since, although the play was in English(or Australian... hehehe), the programmes were only in German.

At the interval, we were both impressed with Cate Blanchett's skill and confused about what exactly the play was about. According to "The Vienna Review", it's a study in post-war alienation. (Woosh, I totally didn't get that).

What certainly came through was Lotte's desperation for some kind of human contact, and her complete inability to make a connection. Most people would be able to relate to feeling alone and lost, and insignificant even. Whether by design or accident, the way the play jumped from scene to scene, and almost didn't seem to be connected in any way, left you feeling confused and perplexed and wondering and even a little weary....probably just the way Lotte felt.

Starting to feel sad now.

We have just a few more days left in Vienna before we fly off to Canada, which is exciting, but this means we only have a few more days left with our baby girl as she flys off to New Zealand the day after we return.

I was telling one of our friends about Jordan's plans(going to live in NZ), and my friend said, "Gosh, you are so cool."
Since we were conversing in German, I misunderstood and thought she meant that I was "cool"(probably from wishful thinking). But she went on to say if it was her, she would be howling(crying her eyes out).

Well, I've been a bit slow to get there, but yes, now I feel like anything could set me off. We are going to miss you so much sweetheart....Jordan.

I think you might be right and that we will miss you so much we will buy you a ticket to come and see us in Switzerland.
