The Problems of Globalization

glob·al·ize

glob·al·i·za·tion
: the act or process of globalizing : the state of being globalized; especially : the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets

Phew serious part over! Of course when one is living away from home, there is a desire to be able to send home something that is particular to the current place of abode. Unfortunately, there is almost nothing here that you can't get there. And of course some things just don't travel well and would be be just down right nasty when it arrived.

In point of fact we have just received some chocolates from NZ that were made in Italy. As you can see this is a global problem. Greg recently returned from France empty-handed for the same reasons. But now that I come to think of it.....what do I care if I get Swiss chocolates from France, or Italian chocolate from NZ? All gifts of chocolate will be gratefully received.(hint hint)
