Capuchin Monastery and Vault(Klaster kapucinu)
I thought I had finished writing about Brno but I left out mentioning the crypt. You're not allowed to take photos but they do sell postcards. Although truthfully who would want to receive a postcard of mummified bodies?
Anyway, we were told that this is one of those must see places. I would agree. If you don't have much time I would make this my top pick for Brno. When you buy your tickets you will be given a few pages with a little of the history. You can pick from German, English, Czech or a Slovak translation.
We thought Jordan knew what we were going to see because we kept saying crypt. We were in the first room looking at a mummified body still in it's casket. I was reading about who were looking at when Jordan suddenly screeched, gave me a horrified look and asked, 'Is this a 'real' body? At my affirmative answer, Jordan raced out of the room.
There's some good history on display here and the mummies are from all walks of life.
