Cruising between Melk and Krems

Josie, Kevin and Chris were off on a cruise and they kindly invited me along. After spending a couple of days sick and shivering in bed, I was looking forward to some time in the sun.

We had to catch a 1 hour train out to Melk and then a bus from there to the boat. The brochure didn't give us enough information so we ended up in a few wrong places and missed a couple of trains before we were finally on our way.

Going against the tide, the cruise took 3 hours. 3 hours of sun, beautiful scenery, snapping off the occasional photo whilst sampling the local wines. It was a struggle for me to keep my eyes open, such were the soporific effects of the sun.

We only got to have about 15-20 mins in Krems before we had to catch the next boat back. The castle there looked like it would be worth a return trip to investigate.
